Two new shooting modes will help you capture more memorable moments. Select Sweep Panorama, press the shutter and sweep the camera across the scene. This new shooting mode takes a quick burst of images, then stitches the shots together to create the ultimate seamless horizontal or vertical panorama in an instant. Framing self-portraits can be tricky without an expensive front LCD screen. Now with the new Self-Portrait Timer the camera will automatically take a picture when you and your friends are in the perfect spot for a great portrait.

The professional-quality Sony G 5x optical zoom lens has a bright f/2.4 aperture for low-light shooting, while the 24mm wide angle means you'll get more people and landscape into your pictures. Quick responsive shooting and clear, detailed images are delivered by the CCD sensor working with the BIONZ processor, so you can make the most of the camera's impressive 14.1 megapixel resolution. At this size you'll be able to make a quality poster print at up to A3, or crop the image without losing any of its crisp detail. It's easy to review your shots on the 2.7" Clear Photo LCD screen, which offers intense detail and high contrast, so you can enjoy your photos in style.
Your home movies in beautiful HD
The W380 isn't just about taking great still pictures. Turn the dial to movies and you're ready to record in 720p HD at 30 frames per second. Want to watch your movies on the big screen? HD output lets you view your videos and photos on HD TV, with the use of an optional cable. Add effects and music with HD slideshow, and create a really fun display.
Choosing the right settings
The W380 is packed with clever features that take the effort out of taking great pictures. Intelligent Auto recognises scenes, lighting and faces and adjusts settings, so that wherever you are and whatever the situation, you'll get the best results possible. Make handshake a thing of the past with Optical SteadyShot, which reduces blurring when you're shooting in low-lit conditions. Trickier shots like twilight landscapes and backlit portraits are taken care of with Intelligent Scene Recognition. Choose from eight pre-set exposure modes and the W380 will automatically alter aperture, shutter speed and colour balance so you get great results in a range of conditions. And people will shine in your portraits, thanks to Smile Shutter, Enhanced Face Detection and Anti-Blink mode.
Find, re-touch and share your pictures
Get your photos looking their best in an instant. The W380 comes with fun in-camera image retouching functions like trim and red-eye correction, for quick fixes. Want to share them? Built-in Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software means you can easily upload images to the web. Just connect your camera to any web-enabled PC and start sharing your photos and videos on the internet.
